Rakesh teaches a sensible, simple, and effective approach to personal safety. Unlike combat sports, our training is centered on Prevention and Protection:

  • Awareness: Identifying and avoiding danger before it develops.

  • Escape: Prioritising a safe exit through effective positioning.

  • Action: Should physical intervention be necessary, we teach practical skills for when under pressure.

Rakesh formulated his own progressive fitness based class called Y-Box which blends techniques from boxing & Karate and applies them on partner held focus pads. Y-Box is a great way to focus the mind and channel energy and aggression. All contact is made with gloves on focus pads and not directly on others.

FREE first class! Term time only. For children (from age 9) teens and adults. The ULTIMATE boxing based fitness class! For juniors, classes are payable per term at £8 per session. Adults pay as you go.

Class Structure

  • Warm up and dynamic stretch
  • Skills and techniques e.g. punches, body evasion & footwork
  • Progressively applying skills in pairs on the focus pads. One person "feeds" the focus pads enabling the other to strike them in various combinations
  • Fitness based exercise
  • Cool down activity/shadow boxing and recap
